+Marketing & Strategy

  • Develop, review, or strengthen go-to-market strategies.
  • Refine product or service positioning and differentiation with a focus on building extremely strong and customer-aligned value propositions.
  • Brainstorm out-of-box approaches to solve myriad business challenges with a focus on leveraging creativity rather than cash.
  • Work with investors or company teams to de-risk a new product or service idea or business plan.
  • Develop or refine revenue strategies including product pricing.
  • Develop marketing, awareness, and advertising strategies spanning blogging, micro-blogging, online advertising, and offline advertising.
  • Deliver public speaking coaching and refinement of key messages including building highly effective and persuasive presentations (investment pitches, conference talks, analyst briefings, etc.).
  • Competitive analysis including strength-weaknesses-opportunities-threats (SWOT) analysis, differentiation, positioning, and innovative techniques for competitor and market-place tracking.

+Sales & Business Development

  • Build a sales strategy including channel selection, sales processes, sales force development, alignment with revenue targets, funnel strategies, and pipelining/forecasting.
  • Define and implement business development strategy, goals, and deal execution.

+Finance

  • Review financials to confirm or challenge assumptions and estimates, make sure numbers “make sense,” and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Determine revenue / growth goals, and set actionable plans to achieve goals.
  • Determine capital needs along with timelines, use of funds analysis, projection of future capital needs and valuation drivers, and investigation of key value drivers at possible exit.
  • Work with management teams during venture capital (VC) fund raising to review plans, milestones, fund raising strategy, pitch presentations, and confirm relative to VC target ratios.

+Product & Project Management

  • Work with software and/or hardware development teams on project and product plans and ensure development is closely aligned with marketing.
  • Deliver quick-hit project plan reviews focusing on prioritization, alignment to goals/objectives, and accuracy of estimates.

+Organizational

  • Provide Executive SparringSM services preparing executives for difficult or high pressure situations including pitches to investors, presentations / discussions with strategic partners, M&A discussions, Board meetings, etc.
  • Develop team build-out plans, define roles and responsibilities, and interview key hires.
  • Assist with organizational reductions / downsizings.

+VC-Specialized Services

  • Perform company diligence work.
  • Provide “deep dive” investigation work at the request of investors or Board members.
  • Deliver acting CxO services to portfolio companies on an as-needed basis.
